I've been shopping again. These days, I've been enjoying handing my money over in exchange for skincare products and plants. The love affair I've cultivated for greenery and the perfect foaming cleanser is real, folks.
I'm really into trying new gentle cleansers, and creams that focus on brightening and dark spot reduction. I picked up a few goodies over the past couple weeks (some not pictured), and wanted to share the details on them.
So, you know the saying, "black don't crack?" Well, asian don't raisin. Listen, I didn't make the phrase up. But if it isn't the truth, I don't know what is. I had never even heard it before until a friend of mine said it after I raved about how amazing Vera Wang looks for 68. She just doesn't look like a woman who's almost 70. I was floored. So yes, now you know - Asians do not raisin. And that's the black ass bottom line.
I recently learned about Neogen's Green Tea Foaming Cleanser from my effortlessly chic favorite youtuber Rachel, and it sparked my interest. It's a Korean brand - a gentle foaming cleanser for all skin types, but targeted for those with sensitive skin. What I love about this cleanser is that it has actual fermented tea leaves at the bottom of the bottle which aids in the brightening and hydration of the skin. I just started using it, but so far, so good!
Let's talk Glossier. I really love Into The Gloss, and what Emily has going on over there. This is a brand I've been wanting to get my hands on for a while, specifically the milky jelly cleanser. Four words: Heaven in a bottle. I LOVE this stuff. It's so mild, and really has that milky, jelly-like formula that it claims to have. It even smells a bit like petroleum jelly. This is definitely a product I will purchase over and over again. If you'd like some Glossier in your life, you can get 10% off your first purchase by using my link. The discount is automatically applied at checkout! I also picked up their Generation G lipstick in the color Jam. Dark lips are my thing, so I definitely wanted to see how I would like their darker shade. It's not an outright full coverage lipstick, so if that's what you're looking for, this one may not be the one for you. I would say it has a medium coverage, possibly buildable. It's that perfect lip product to wear when you want to add a bit of color to your face, but not have a full-on glam look. You can even dab some on your cheeks for a subtle blush color.
Lastly, I purchased Andalou Natural's luminous eye serum. This is another brand that I've been LOVING lately. Their creamy cleanser and pumpkin honey glycolic mask are a part of my staple products, and this eye cream is now a new member of it as well.
The texture of my skin feels amazing, but I still have what I assume are hormonal breakouts/stress-induced breakouts, and dark spots from being a bad girl and not leaving the breakouts alone. My goal is clear, beautiful, even skin. I even have a dermatologist appointment this week that I'm really looking forward to. I've never cared as much about skincare as I do now. It feels really good to have a daily routine that I've actually been consistent with.
