Books & Beauty
Confession: I think I'm slowly becoming addicted to facial mists, maybe not as much as I am with plants, but I can see it getting there. There are tons of different mists that serve various purposes - some are used for setting makeup, some for keeping the skin hydrated throughout the day, and some are even used to calm and cool the skin. Pearl Essence Coconut Water Hydrating Mist is served to do just that; hydrate, but you can also spray over your makeup. This is a really inexpensive brand, and can be found at Marshall's. I also have their rose water, and it's awesome. Remember, you don't need to spend a lot of money to own an effective product.
Sometimes, I will carry this bottle in my purse simply because I love spraying it on my face at any given time of the day. Plus, the coconut scent smells AMAZING. Give me all the coconut-scented things.

I purchased this product a few weeks ago from Whole Foods and have not been able to put it down. I had been looking for a good facial scrub that I could tell was really working, and I think this one is doing the trick. My skin always feels clean, healthy and radiant after each use.

These lovely liquid hand soaps from Natural Sense Apothecary caught my eye because I absolutely loved the messages on the bottles. I had to get them, not even caring what they smelled like. But they smell great as well, so it was a win-win situation.

More books! I've really been focusing on cultivating (I love that word) the habit of reading more in my leisure time. Although I'm a slow reader, I plan to eventually read all of the books I own. Speaking of, I'm still reading this book. Still. That's how slow of a reader I am. I will finish eventually. I picked up this Elemental Energy book from HomeGoods last week. It caught my eye, and as of recent, I've been interested in reading about crystals and their supposed benefits. I say "supposed" because I'm not completely sold...yet; however, I did purchase three crystals of my own (pictured above).
“Lepidolite is the stone of calm, trust, and acceptance. It has a strong relaxing, balancing and calming effect. It brings hope in dark times by lending a sense of balance and calm. It decreases stress, anxiety, depression, manic-depression, despondency, PTSD, anger, and other traumas, panic attacks, and addictions.”
“Amethyst is a meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual, and physical planes to promote calm, balance, and peace. It is also used to eliminate impatience.”
“Rose Quartz is the stone of unconditional love that opens the heart chakra to all forms of love: self-love, family love, platonic love, and romantic love. The high energy of quartz gives rose quartz the property of enhancing love in virtually any situation. Bringing love in to life and daily situations not only brings inner warmth, but it also lowers stress and soothes those around it. Rose quartz is a very happy and loving stone.”
When I was shopping for the crystals, I pulled my phone out in the store and hopped right on Google to read about their benefits, and these three really spoke to the things that I try to master in my life.

I also took a trip to Barnes & Noble and grabbed these. Although I believe that there is a higher power somewhere out there, and I pray on a consistent basis, I am not super religious (I haven't been to church in ages), but I am more open to the spiritual aspect of it all. Nothing too deep, just relatable, inspiring reads that make a difference in how I move about in this crazy world. These types of books are encouraging, so lately, I've been on this discovery of wanting to read the works of the Oshos and the Eckhart Tolles of the world. Looking forward to reading these!
